Throughout the blogs you may come across some dishes which require a base sauce. Today we will teach you how to make curry sauce, which is the base sauce for many curries. Master this and you will be able to master any curry!

For 5 people


  • 1kg white onion
  • 1LTR Water boiled
  • 30 grams cumin seeds
  • 100 grams of salt
  • 50 grams red chilli powder
  • 50 grams turmeric
  • 50 grams cumin
  • 50 grams coriander
  • 30 grams of curry powder
  • 200 grams tomato puree
  • 50 grams of coconut cream
  • Vegetable oil


  1. Peel and chop the onions and cook in a little vegetable oil until soft.
  2. Add the cumin seeds.
  3. Add all of the spices and leave to cook for a few minutes.
  4. Add in the water and leave to simmer for 10 mins.
  5. Add the tomato puree, coconut cream and some vegetable oil and simmer for 20 mins.
  6. A thick gravy type sauce is what you are looking for!
